Avery Southam '27

Biography

Avery Southam ‘27 is from Toronto, Canada, studying Marketing and English. On campus, Southam serves as a project leader for Target under Notre Dame’s Student International Business Council. After being a travel team member for both Target and the Orlando Magic NBA franchise in her sophomore year, she now leads a team of students in developing a feasible solution to a current business challenge faced by Target. Southam also works as a Writing Tutor at Notre Dame’s University Writing Center. In her role, she mentors undergraduate students, graduate students, and student athletes to build their confidence in writing.

Southam is passionate about careers in marketing, media, data storytelling, PR, or consulting, and thrives on building lasting relationships with customers and colleagues. In the summer of 2025, Southam worked as a marketing intern for American Express on their Corporate Affairs and Communications team, growing her interest in lifestyle marketing. In the summer of 2024, Southam worked as the Social Media Coordinator for a small women’s clothing boutique, as she has a fire for retail, fashion, and beauty. All summers prior, Southam worked at and attended an overnight sleepaway camp in Ontario, Canada, where she learnt the values of leadership and adaptability.
