Marcela Rodriguez Holguin '26

Biography

Marcela Rodríguez Holguín is a junior from Houston, TX, double majoring in Marketing and Design with a concentration in Visual Communication and a minor in Latino Studies. Marcela spent her past summer working as a Program Coordinator for Alexander Hamilton Scholars, an academic non-profit that focuses on educating and empowering first-generation, low-income students. Before that, she served at an immigrant shelter in Houston through the NDBridge program by the Center for Social Concerns during her freshman year summer, where she taught English to migrants, aided in finding housing, and helped them fill out applications for healthcare and immigration hearings. 
On campus, she focuses on advocacy and education. She is involved with the Sheedy Family Program, the Transformative Leaders Program, and is the Peer Mentor Coordinator for Building Bridges. She is part of the Media team for the Sheedy Family Program and participated in the 2024 Sheedy Business Trek to Silicon Valley. She is also part of the Student Coalition for Immigration Advocacy board, Co-Director of the UndocuAlly ND initiative, and the Creative Director for Girl Gains ND. She also enjoys serving the South Bend community and has volunteered at La Casa de Amistad and One More Citizen. After graduating from Notre Dame, Marcela hopes to pursue her interests in Marketing and Design in the non-profit sector.
