Biography

Andrew Smith (‘27) is a History major from Nashville, Tennessee, minoring in Foundations of Business. He spent a summer in Rome working with non-governmental organizations and Vatican institutions focused on how to effectively mediate and promote peacebuilding while also adhering to just-war theory. In Rome, he engaged with several international organizations, including Sant Edgidio, Caritas International, and the Vatican Dicastery.
Andrew also interned with Mountain Group Partners, a Nashville-based Venture Capital firm. Mountain Group Partners invests in early-stage companies in animal health, molecular diagnostics, and various disruptive technologies, including solar energy and health care for humans and animals. Additionally, he interned with a start-up publishing company, Creed and Culture Books, as a research analyst.
On campus, Andrew is working to strengthen the Catholic community in his dorm, Duncan Hall, through his position as the Liturgical Commissioner. When not in Duncan, he pursues his faith in the DeNicola Center as a Sorin Fellow.
He along with his immediate family are recent converts to the Catholic Church. His brother Colin and his twin sister Abby are also Notre Dame undergraduates.
