Darren Tanuwijaya '28

Biography

Darren Tanuwijaya ‘28 from Jakarta, Indonesia, is a proud Stedsman passionate about creating positive social impact with his life. He majors in Economics and minors in Social Entrepreneurship and Chinese.
On campus, he serves as the Beyond The Dome ambassador for his hall, promoting and organizing events that build students’ confidence and skills for career development. By offering guidance and pointing out resources on campus, he walks and grows with his peers in the journey of discernment.
Driven by his passion for social impact, Darren joined an ND Student Policy Network team, researching collective bargaining policies across the states for the Economic Policy Institute in Fall 2024. He then joined the ND Bridge program in Summer 2025, working with Wezesha Vocational College in Namibia for 8 weeks, running workshops and crafting prototype curriculums and marketing templates. And in Fall 2025, Darren serves local entrepreneurs as a student consultant through the South Bend Entrepreneurship and Adversity Program.
Darren is also the President of the Indonesian Student Association (ISA) ‘25-26. As President, he collaborates with his Board to create an inclusive yet tight-knit community not only for Indonesian students, but also for everyone interested in Indonesian culture. During his tenure, ISA's presence and membership grew significantly.
Further, Darren serves in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart every Sunday as a communion minister and is part of the Transformational Leaders Program. As a person with wide interests who seeks continuous growth, he approaches everything he does with enthusiasm and dedication.
