Biography

Eva Romero ’26 is majoring in Economics with minors in Accountancy and Data Science. She is proud to be from the City of Chicago. Last summer, Eva interned at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) as a Research Operations Intern. She will continue to support their mission of conducting rigorous, empirical research aimed at alleviating poverty throughout the academic year. Through this role, she has enjoyed not only working with randomized controlled trial data, or strengthening her coding techniques, but contributing to research that positively impacts people living in poverty. She hopes to keep reinforcing her quantitative and technical skillset and pursue a career in economic consulting and/or data analytics.

The summer prior (2024), she worked as an Operations Intern for the private credit firm, Victory Park Capital in Chicago. Her most memorable summer (2023) was spent volunteering at Open Arms Home for Children in Komga, South Africa. This opportunity was organized by the Center for Social Concerns through their 8-week NDBridge program. An avid traveller, Eva also studied abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland during the 2025 Spring Semester. On campus, she is involved with 2 selective cohort-based programs, the Sheedy Family Program and the AnBryce Scholars Initiative. Additionally, she loves to keep up her passion for dance with TroopND Dance Team and RitmoND.
