Biography
Kayla Mendes (‘28) is from San Diego, California, studying psychology and business. She is fascinated by the relationship between these two fields of study, and how it informs the basis of successful business, decision-making, team-building, and marketing.
Years of nonprofit volunteer work with Lucky Duck Foundation has advanced her development as an empathetic, effective leader. In her outreach and advocacy for the homeless population in San Diego, she has become well-versed in graphic design and event planning. Over the summer of 2025, she worked as a Social and Content Marketing Intern for Rumind, playing a key role in building the brand’s digital presence and securing their first brand partnership. With an interdisciplinary academic concentration, and support from the Sheedy Family Scholarship Program, Kayla hopes to strengthen her ability to attack workplace-related issues with a liberal arts mindset.
