Biography

Mary Storino is a sophomore from Winnetka, Illinois, studying economics with a minor in business. Over the summer, she interned with Mayor Lauren McLean of Boise, Idaho. This semester, she has been working with KPMG through the Student International Business Council’s impact consulting division to improve Play Like a Champion Today, a non profit organization for kids sports, to increase their outreach, fundraising, and marketing strategies. Mary has also been working to consult for Farm of the Child, a non profit organization based in Honduras, curating strategies to improve their funding and volunteer recruitment. Mary has experience with research through assisting in the implementation of a new Financial Empowerment Center in South Bend. This work involved examining South Bend’s economic trends and already established FECs, presenting the findings to the Mayor’s Office. This year Mary has continued this passion for research by joining the “Life Outside Re-Entry” project through Student Policy Network, where she analyzes legislation related to education in prisons and its impact on recidivism rates.
