Biography

Colin Linnen is a senior from Chicago pursuing a double major in Finance and Global Affairs. Thanks to a grant from the Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership, Linnen conducted field research in Fukushima, Japan, in the spring of 2023. His research focuses on community resilience in the wake of the 2011 nuclear disaster. Specifically, Linnen explores the role of business in promoting recovery. He studied abroad in Toledo, Spain, during the spring of 2024. During his semester in Spain, Linnen immersed himself in five classes instructed entirely in the Spanish language to work toward his goal of fluency. He also studied abroad in South Africa during the summer of 2022. Linnen has past work experience in both private equity and investment banking through summer internships in New York and Chicago. Following graduation, Linnen’s career interests include roles in financial services, international business, or foreign service.
