Maire Brennan '25

Biography

Maire Brennan is a senior from Maryland studying Accountancy and Constitutional Studies. She is passionately involved in the Sheedy Family Program (SFP), currently serving as a Peer Dialogue Leader for the program’s third cohort. Last spring, she received the SFP Director’s Award for her contributions to the community. Interested in human-centered design and Catholic Social Teaching, she received grants from the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts and the Nanovic Institute for European Studies to research design and the Common Good in Copenhagen, Denmark.

On campus, she is involved in the Notre Dame Accounting Association, serving as chair of the social committee, and the Tax Assistance Program, assisting low-income members of the South Bend community with their tax returns. This semester, she is a teaching assistant to Professor Fred Mittelstadt in the Accountancy department. She has worked at the Notre Dame Alumni Association for three years, heading their prestigious award program. She represents Walsh Hall in various intramural sports, serving as captain of their beach volleyball and flag football teams.

In the summer of 2023, she completed the Frassati Internship through the Alliance for Catholic Education, belonging to the sixth cohort of Malpass Fellows. As a Malpass Fellow, she spent seven weeks at the Catholic Education Foundation, a non-profit in Los Angeles, California. This past summer, she interned at Deloitte’s tax practice in their Chicago, Illinois office. She spent the remainder of the summer interning at Glenair, a private manufacturing company, in Glendale, California.
