Biography
Sophie Miller '27 is from South Bend, Indiana, double-majoring in Theology and Political Science with a minor in Marketing at the University of Notre Dame. On campus, she has served as the President of the Theology Club, a Theology Teaching Assistant, and a researcher for the Student Policy Network, where she contributed to preparing a federal sanctions recommendation dossier. She also works as a member of Notre Dame Law School's Marketing Communications team, where she has published numerous articles.
Sophie coaches high school Mock Trial, teaching students trial procedure, courtroom etiquette, and legal strategy. Under her guidance, teams placed second and first in the South Bend Region in 2024 and 2025, advancing to the State Competition. She has also volunteered with the Indiana Bar Foundation as a competition judge. These experiences have strengthened her research, analytical, and communication skills, allowing her to convey complex information to academic, legal, and professional audiences.
During the summer of 2025, Sophie interned with Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP in Chicago. She supported the Professional Liability Team by drafting subpoenas, preparing deposition and court summaries, and contributing to case strategy discussions. She also developed case abstracts for partner use in litigation and assisted with court communications, gaining firsthand exposure to the demands of legal practice.
In Spring 2026, Sophie will study abroad in Rome as an International Scholar. She plans to pursue a career in law grounded in reasoning, advocacy, and analysis, with a focus on connecting legal expertise to meaningful real-world impact.
