Mac Sims '27

Biography

Mac Sims ‘27 is a junior majoring in Finance and Theology, with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He attended The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, but currently resides in Denver, Colorado. Grounded in a curiosity for complex systems and problem-solving, Mac immerses himself in a wide range of opportunities that push him to think strategically, adapt quickly, and grow as a versatile problem solver.

Most recently, Mac spent the summer working with Limelight Rainforest, a technology-driven biodiversity monitoring company tailored for corporate sustainability goals. There, he partnered with senior leadership to shape the organization’s commercialization approach—helping to define real-time drone applications, calibrate pricing models for various use cases, and design engagement models for target industries. To support this work, Mac traveled to the Ecuadorian Amazon, deploying survey equipment as part of one of the largest light-attracted insect studies ever conducted while gaining firsthand insight into the ecosystems Limelight seeks to protect.

On campus, Mac has been involved in Notre Dame Venture Capital and Student International Business Council (SIBC), having participated on projects with BCG, Ares Management, and Fidelity Investments. He is also an active participant in Students Consulting for Non-Profit Organizations (SCNO), having most recently assisted Living Life in Abundance Ministry in Uganda with their donation expansion plan. In addition, Mac has tutored at the Robinson Community Center, supporting local K–12 students and fostering a positive learning environment.
