Sheedy Students: join us for our monthly Dinner Speaker Series!

Each month we will gather as a community to share a meal, listen to a presentation by an invited speaker, and engage in liberal-arts-style dialogue about the evening’s topic.

We will meet each month in the Oak Room, a private dining room located in South Dining Hall. Dinner will be catered by Notre Dame’s Three Leaf Catering.

We will be joined this month by Chris Sheedy. A commercial real estate finance professional for 28 years, Chris began his career with the predecessor bank to PNC where he quickly became an officer in the commercial real estate loan work-out subsidiary PNC Realty Holding Corp.  He later embarked on a 15-year career in commercial mortgage banking placing debt and equity for insurance companies, pension funds, government agencies, commercial banks, and Wall Street investment banks. Chris was recognized as a top performer for UNUMProvident, LaSalle Bank, Mezz Cap Partners, and Walker Dunlop for debt placement projects secured by western Pennsylvania investment real estate.  In his current position, Chris is responsible for overseeing specialty real estate trust funds managed by AmeriServ Trust and Financial Services Company.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and has completed numerous industry-related continuing education courses offered by universities, the Pennsylvania Realtors, and the Appraisal Institute.  He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Loyalhanna Watershed Association and is a volunteer at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History Powdermill Nature Reserve.  Chris lives in Ligonier with his wife and daughter.

Chris Sheedy will also be joined by several other speakers, including:

  • Mark Laskow, a businessman who worked in private equity and investment consulting
  • Rick Bloomingdale, a labor union activist and retired President of the Pennsylvania AFL–CIO (2010-2022)
