Biography

Jacob Olejnik (‘29) combines the arts and business with his majors in Industrial Design and Strategic Management, and is also a member of the Business Honors Program. He is especially interested in the applications of design thinking and human-centered design within the business world. In his classes, he has developed a research approach that heavily incorporates qualitative research alongside quantitative data, through his analysis and recommendations on companies such as Spotify and Divvy Bike. Jacob was fortunate to work closely with Under Armour through his Design Research class, where he did in-depth research on recovery.

Originally from Lisle, IL, he now lives in Alumni Hall where he leads its library, captains the Goofy Goobers wiffle ball team, and is “Head Chef Extraordinaire" for the dorm’s weekly waffle mass. Across campus, Jacob is a setter for the club volleyball team, a member of Design at Notre Dame, SIBC, an interhall soccer referee, and an office assistant for student affairs where he works with university leadership to organize and prepare materials and data. Off campus, he has done work with Habitat for Humanity, building houses in the South Bend community, and worked with ImagininGuatemala in the summer of 2026, where he built a house for a Guatemalan family while living among and serving the community.
