Biography

Lucas Murray ‘29 is a finance and education double major with a minor in innovation and entrepreneurship from Honesdale, Pennsylvania. During the summer of 2026, Luke worked in Galway, Ireland, as a social entrepreneurship intern for a local nonprofit, researching and collaborating with multiple sustainability and nature conservancy groups. Additionally, Luke co-founded a non-profit for pregnant, homeless teenage women in Uganda, raising several thousand dollars in honor of a student teacher from Uganda. His love of community, people, and service has led him to pursue a career in consumer and commercial banking. He plans to eventually return to his small, rural hometown and run a community bank, bringing world-class education and experience back to the community he loves.

Outside of his involvement in the Sheedy Family Program, Luke is involved in leadership in the Stanford Hall community and the Notre Dame Glee Club, where he spends time embracing the people that make the Notre Dame community unique. He is the head lifeguard for Rolfs’ Aquatic Facility on campus, where he conducts staff training and pool maintenance and holds several certifications for pool operations, chemicals, and CPR/AED. Luke looks forward to deepening his understanding, through the Sheedy Family Program, of the meaningful impact business can have on local communities.
