Biography
Luke Woodyard ('28) is an economics and theology major from Evansville, Indiana, and a Lilly Endowment Scholar. He is also pursuing a minor in constitutional studies, which inspired his aspiration toward a future in law and public policy.
Professionally, Luke has interned in finance and public policy and completed a law fellowship under Judge Gary J. Schutte. He is an intern for Kenneth Paxton's Senate campaign, developing analytical strategies centered on West Texas and organizing voter outreach. Previously, he interned at Aesthetic Brokers, a boutique sell-side firm, developing client models and collecting internal evaluation metrics.
On campus, Luke is deeply involved in Catholic thought and community. He serves as a board member of the Right to Life Club, helping organize the March for Life, and volunteers with the Knights of Columbus at their gameday steak sales.
Luke also serves as president of the Notre Dame College Republicans and has represented the club in BridgeND debates. He writes a regular column for The Observer and has served as both a writer and politics editor for the Irish Rover. He is a member of the Financial and Fiscal Challenges Club, where his team took first place in the national Fiscal Challenge cohort, developing data-driven policy recommendations grounded in economic analysis.
